At Last.

Had the weigh in today.
15 stone 12 lbs
Finally some movement, and that’s after a week at home with only a couple of cycle rides. It makes me realise how out of sync one’s bodyclock gets doing shiftwork for a living, if I didn’t need the money, it’d be history.
I wish I’d been riding a bike when I was in my 20’s, I’d have kept it up I’m sure, and I’d have made career choices aimed at keeping the cycling going. I was reading thatmessengerchick’s blog yesterday, she has what seems to me, at least, the perfect job, and she’s worried that at 28 she won’t be able to do the job till retirement. WHY NOT?
I’m 60 in February ’11, if I could take my pension and start a job as a bicycle messenger, I’d definitely give it a go.
If only dreams came true.
Had a good pedal early today, out at 08.00 back home by 10.00, just the usual loop around Glynneath, Cwmgwrach, and Pontneddfechan, about 21 miles. The weather was brilliant. I continued with my trial of staying in the one gear, no matter what, and again I was quite comfortable. I really enjoy it. Makes me even more determined to get a singlespeed bike, but I need to ask a good few questions about what set up, configuration to get.
Here’s a few pics.
Yes, I used to work “shift” work. For 5 years my schedule was 6- days, 2 days off, 7 nights 4 days off, and then 7 2nd shifts. I was horrible on the bodies energy supplies. Your doing a good job getting on the bike when you can. I’m 57, and biking now more then I ever have, so we can do er.
Happy biking
